May 28th
Opening Day Gala
The Kingston Farmers' Market celebrates its Opening Day on Saturday, May 28th, at 9:00 a.m. with a limited plant giveaway from Cornell Cooperative Extension. Their master gardeners will be on site to answer all your gardening questions. At 10:00 a.m. Ulster County Clerk, Nina Postupack, Ulster County Comptroller, Elliot Auerbach and Director of Tourism for Ulster County, Rick Remsnyder, along with other local dignitaries, will cut the ceremonial vine signaling the official start of the season. Crafts on John Street will also join the Market for Opening Day.
June
4th - Crafts on John Street joins the Kingston Farmers' Market this week and continues every first and third Saturday throughout the rest of the season of the Market. Talented, local, Hudson Valley artisans showcase their wares in a wonderful, historic setting.
11th - Sensational Strawberries are the rich topic of the first Healthy Eating Series this year at the Kingston Farmers' Market. Chef demonstrations show how to use this farmers' market favorite in tasty, new ways. The Healthy Eating Series will continue the second and fourth Saturdays of the month for the rest of the season.
18th - The Storytelling Series at the Kingston Farmers' Market gets kicked off this season with Kate Dudding. This award-winning storyteller has a gift for giving voices to people from the past. The Stockade District makes this the perfect venue. The Storytelling Series continues the third Saturday of each month for the rest of the season. Crafts on John Street will also be at the Market this week.
25th - The Healthy Eating Series continues at the Kingston Farmers’ Market this week with Bountiful Blueberries. This super-fruit will be the focus of the chef demonstration. Whether creating a dish or just snacking on them by the handful, this high in antioxidant food tastes great and is great for you.
July
2nd - Crafts on John Street joins the Kingston Farmers’ Market this week. Handmade soap, jewelry, glass art and more are just some of the wares you’ll find from these talented, local Hudson Valley artisans.
9th - The Healthy Eating Series continues at the Kingston Farmers' Market this week with Jam in July. The focus of the chef demonstration will be preserving fruit at the height of its tastiness. As a spread, topping or filling nothing adds natural sweetness like fresh jam.
16th - The Storytelling Series at the Kingston Farmers’ Market continues this week with Laurie McIntosh. Also known as “Story Laurie” this musical storyteller entertains with history, humor and lore that appeal to adults and families as well. Crafts on John Street will also be at the Market this week.
23rd Join us for a Corn Roast at the Kingston Farmers’ Market. There’s nothing corny about locally grown, sweet corn. The Hudson Valley is famous for it. One taste and you’ll understand why! The Healthy Eating Series gets corny this week as well with a chef demonstration featuring a cornucopia of corn.
30th - It’s Senior’s Day at the Kingston Farmers’ Market today. The young at heart are the focus today from on-site screenings to enrollment in programs with benefits, we’ve got you covered! You’re never too old or too young to start living right. Eating well is just the beginning.

6th - Crafts on John Street joins the Kingston Farmers’ Market this week. From hand-made one-of-a-kind kid’s tees to matted and framed photographs of the Hudson Valley these are just some of the wares you’ll find from this group of talented, local Hudson Valley artisans.

20th - The Storytelling Series at the Kingston Farmers’ Market continues this week with Janet Carter. This former actress’ gift for character and dialogue come through with each performance. Crafts on John Street will also be at the Market this week.
27th - The Healthy Eating Series continues at the Kingston Farmers’ Market this week with Tons of Tomatoes. This fruit often confused as a vegetable will be the focus of the chef demonstration this week. Not sure what to do with your bumper crop of tomatoes? Come find out!
September
3rd - Crafts on John Street joins the Kingston Farmers’ Market this week. From hand-spun yarn, one-of-a-kind clothes, sun hats and more these are just some of the wares you’ll find from this talented group of local Hudson Valley artisans.
10th - The Healthy Eating Series continues at the Kingston Farmers’ Market this week. Salads as Meals will be the focus of the chef demonstration. Just as filling yet healthier than most meals the salad is a side dish no more!
17th - The Storytelling Series at the Kingston Farmers’ Market continues this week with Maggie Whelan. This retired teacher and published writer has trained in storytelling and sees great value in sharing memories of family and growing up. Crafts on John Street will also be at the Market this week.
24th - The Healthy Eating Series continues at the Kingston Farmers’ Market this week. Beneficial Beans will be the focus of the chef demonstration. Protein, fiber and so much more; find out why beans should be a part of your healthy diet.

1st - Crafts on John Street joins the Kingston Farmers’ Market this week. 8th - The Healthy Eating Series continues at the Kingston Farmers’ Market this week. Glorious Greens will be the focus of the chef demonstration. All nutritionists agree there should be a rainbow of color on your plate with each meal and dark green vegetables are one of them.
15th - The Storytelling Series at the Kingston Farmers’ Market continues this week with Betty Cassidy. This former teacher uses the power of story to teach, amuse and motivate others. Crafts on John Street will also be at the Market this week.
22nd Join the Fall Festival this week at the Kingston Farmers’ Market. Celebrate the bounty of the season’s harvest with food and activities guaranteed to take the chill off. The Healthy Eating Series continues at the Kingston Farmers’ Market this week. Fermentation preservation is the focus of the chef demonstration. The Storytelling Series also keeps the mood festive with Karen Pillsworth the Story Laureate of the City of Kingston.
29th The Kingston Farmers’ Market has more than 30 vendors offering organic and natural fare such as meats and cheeses, fruits and vegetables, breads and other baked goods, honey, fresh-cut flowers and so much more. There’s something for everyone at the Kingston Farmers’ Market.

Healthy Eating Series
12 weeks of glorious healthy eating ideas from the market, recipes and ways to prepare it by local nutritionists. The Healthy Eating Series is on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month at 11am and is sponsored by Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley.

Our Nutritionists
Noel Conklin, H.H.C., AADP. Noel Conklin has been building her knowledge and skills as a chef and nutritional counselor through personal and professional experiences in the Hudson Valley for many years. Trained as a certified holistic health counselor at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City, Noel believes that how we relate to our food and environment directly correlates to our mental and physical state of well being. An ardent supporter of local agriculture, Noel has worked with several area businesses who offer local, sustainable, whole foods fare, including the Omega Institute, the Center for Discovery, and Davenport’s Farm Stand. Noel is a passionate advocate for the implementation of healthy whole food nutrition in our schools and other care-giving institutions. In addition to her training in holistic health counseling, Noel studied the culinary arts at the Natural Gourmet Institute for the Culinary Arts in New York City. Through her business, The Prepared Pantry, Noel supports the health and nutritional needs of local individuals and families by offering prepared meals, cooking instruction, health coaching, gardening, marketing, and kitchen organization. Lysa Ingalsbe, RN, Certified Health Coach, has been studying health and wellness since 1992. Her journey began in nursing and eventually led her to graduate from the Integrative Institute of Nutrition in 2002. Lysa formed Body & Soul Nutrition, LLC, to provide lifestyle and nutritional coaching to help people realize their wellness potential. Lysa’s passion is to help clients develop an awareness about the significance of their relationship between food and self.
